The following are the dates of the famed week that has designers toiling away day and night for months ahead preparing designs that will WOW the world and set the trends we see in stores and boutiques.

Seating of Celebs
When cameras zoom in on the crowds it may look like a coincidence when a group of A-list celeb friends sit together, but it isn’t. In the mind of an up-and-coming celebrity, there is one goal: to score a front row seat next to a fashion heavy hitter like Dame Anna Wintour (British-American journalist and editor who became artistic director for Condé Nast in 2013), Tracee Ellis Ross (U.S. model, actress, comedian, TV host, and the daughter of Diana Ross), Kim Kardashian, Kendall Jenner and Kylie Jenner (of course), and then get photographed in that moment.
You can find these industry veterans at the biggest shows — think: Tom Ford and Oscar de la Renta —wearing clothes custom made by the respective designer, because they are actually one of the designer’s muses! Despite the “you can’t sit with us”-like vibe, it’s not impossible to join this elite fashion club.
Why would a movie star want to be in the club? The upcoming award-season! Developing relationships with coveted designers is enormously helpful when planning their red carpet wardrobe. A large majority of the dresses on the carpet come from the runway, and some celebs even fall in love with a garment at the shows. However, for B-listers it’s a real complicated process to get even near the front row!
Now Trending this Fall
The FW17 season trends already out there show that everything you’ll be wearing in the next six months includes Americana vibes, vintage-inspired everything, and powerful ways to wear red — yes, it’s official, red is the color of fall 2017 — evident from the sleek coats at Givenchy to monochromatic looks at Tod’s, and statement OTK boots at Fendi. Get ready to see it all over the street style circuit.
Last season it was all about the statement fur (we’re certainly hoping faux-fur), but now it’s back to basics without the frills. Classic, vintage-inspired coats that looked like they’d been hanging in a second-hand store were displayed by British fashion label JW Anderson, Adidas/Kanye West collaboration Yeezy, and impactful Paris-based collective, Vetements.
As far as footwear goes — for those who dare shine and sparkle — white ankle glitterati boots are a fresh trend that was on display by designers including Chanel in a space-age version, J Crew, La Renta, Marco De Vincenzo, and the Saint Laurent pair worn by Rhianna. Add to that “Western Front” items from steel-toed boots, to leather vests, cowhide prints, and kitschy cacti.
Another fall vestige from the likes of Bottega, Chloé, Marni, Tory Burch, Stella McCartney, Prada, Tome, Hermes, and even Jenny Packham, are bright 70s-inspired plaid (not to be confused with ’90s crunge).
The industry heavyweights also reminded us not to forget to donne a 1941-throwback vintage hat; Victorian-inspired collars; leisure suits (the latest in cozy wear and preferably paired with stilettoes); oversized grandpa blazers with broad shoulders (like shoulder pads broad); chic super wearable and wrinkle-free nylon coats; fishnet tights (yay!) paired with feminine dresses; aunty’ s curtain and couch florals (think Amy Adams’s curtain-created dresses in Enchanted); brown as the new black; wide and waist-cinching belts; opulent details like Russian-doll prints; and formal velvet.
